Visual Storytelling to Flip the Script

Matthieu Rytz is an award-winning visual storyteller and trained visual anthropologist. His debut feature documentary Anote's Ark (Sundance 2018) earned critical acclaim for its intimate portrayal of climate change in Kiribati. His follow-up, Deep Rising (Sundance 2023), reveals the global race for deep-sea minerals. Actively collaborating with NGOs, governments, and academic institutions, Matthieu's work bridges art, science, and advocacy-using film, photography, and immersive media to inform, inspire, and mobilize action for social and environmental justice. Matthieu is committed to flipping the script by harnessing the transformative power of visual storytelling.
